Thanksgiving: Food, Friends and Football

Welcome to the weekly update, now from week 12 of my exchange stay, which is slowly approaching the end.. It is hard to believe. I began the week, Monday and Tuesday, with school and homework. I had to work ahead, as I was going away for an extended weekend. On Wednesday morning I went to the airport, where I was meeting my boyfriend. We where going to spend Thanksgiving in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We arrived relatively late, and went straight for dinner. On Thursday, it was the big day of Thanksgiving. We spend the day preparing all kinds of food, we went for a walk, watched a lot of football and ate a lot of food. It was such as great experience and I really enjoyed being a part of it.

Friday, we went to pick up the family’s Christmas tree. Afterwards, we went to the Minneapolis Institute of Art, to see an exhibition about Natives of America. It was super interesting. In the evening, we met up with some friends to drink beer and make s’mores.

On Saturday, we had an easy day where we relaxed at home. In the afternoon, we went to a distillery to have cocktails, and afterwards we ate Mexican dinner. On Sunday, we had an exiting day ahead of us, as we where going to the US Bank to watch the Vikings play football! I had never watched an NFL game before, but it was so much fun, and the atmosphere was amazing! Not my last game for sure. Before the game, my boyfriend and I went to Minneapolis downtown to walk around, it was a very beautiful city! We also went to Matt’s bar, so have the famous Jucy Lucy burger – and it did not disappoint. The Vikings unfortunately lost the game, but it was an amazing experience still! A good trip to Minnesota, with friends, food and football.
